Where can I light fireworks?

Towns decide whether to allow fireworks

Towns around Mayes County are taking a stand on shooting fireworks. Some towns allow fireworks for a limited amount of time, while others ban all fireworks inside city limits. The Daily Times contacted area towns and compiled a list of who’s hot and who’s not.





Pryor

Pryor does not allow any fireworks inside the city limits.



Locust Grove

The Town of Locust Grove will allow fireworks in the city limits from June 20 to July 3, each night until 10 p.m. Fireworks will be allowed until midnight on July 4.



Chouteau

Chouteau allows residents inside city limits to shoot fireworks July 1-4. Any other time of year, fireworks inside city limits are prohibited.



Adair

The town of Adair does not allow residents to shoot fireworks inside city limits.



Spavinaw

Residents in Spavinaw may not shoot fireworks inside city limits.



Salina

The town of Salina comes to life over the 4th of July holiday, does allow residents to pop fireworks from July 1-4.



Disney

Residents in Disney are not allowed to shoot fireworks. Over the 4th of July weekend, the fire department is manning a first aid station at city hall. Anyone with minor injuries may stop by the city hall July 4-6.



Langley

The powers that be in Langley decided to lift a ban on fireworks for two days over a two hour period. Residents may shoot off fireworks from 10 p.m. to midnight July 4 and 5.



Sportsmen Acres

People living inside Sportsmen Acres will be watching the sparks fly since fireworks are allowed inside town limits. Through July 3, residents may light fireworks from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. On the 4th, the action doesn’t stop until 1 a.m.



Snowdale State Park

Campers at Snowdale are not allowed to shoot fireworks at any time over the holiday weekend. Snowdale has no RV sites left, but plenty of tent space available. Tents sites are $10 with an additional $6 for electric.



Lakeshore RV Park

Those visiting Lakeshore RV Park will be bringing in the 4th with a bang since owners will be allowing fireworks on July 4. All RV sites are taken for the holiday. The high water is covering most camping sites. Only two tent sites are available.



Jenson’s RV Park

A big sign on the way into Jenson’s announces no fireworks allowed in the park. Day use is $2 per car per day and $4 for a night.
