Salina school board discuss construction

Melissa McClendon
Staff Reporter

The April monthly school board meeting was short and to the point for Salina school board members recently.

Tess Butler’s resignation as a middle school special education teacher was accepted. The board approved fund raisers for the school’s volleyball team.

A contract with Municipal Accounting system was approved for the 2008-2009 school year and DATL, Drugs of Abuse Testing Laboratory, will do the school's student drug testing.

The board also

discussed construction progress at the new

elementary school. Superintendent Vol Woods said things are going well at the site. He admits there have been a few glitches but he said overall everything is on track.

School was dismissed for flooding recently. Woods said students in Salina will remain in school until May 30.
