Spavinaw coach faces charges of lewd molestation

A coach at Spavinaw Public Schools resigned recently and is facing two felony charges of lewd molestation.

Dustin Mauldin, 20, is being accused of molesting a 14-year-old girl two times in November and December 2006.

Police Chief Butch McDonald said allegations involve Mauldin having the girl rub his penis on the outside of his clothing on Nov. 30, Dec. 6 and Dec. 7, 2006.

School officials discovered the allegations and informed police.

Mauldin was charged Thursday in Mayes County District Court with two counts of lewd molestation.

Mauldin was a coach with Spavinaw Public Schools, but resigned after allegations surfaced.

He is expected to turn himself in to authorities next week.
