Candidates file

Candidates in four Mayes County towns are in a race for city official

positions.

Filing was held Feb. 2-4 for offices in Adair, Chouteau, Langley, Locust Grove, Salina and Spavinaw. Elections will be held Apr. 7 at city polling places.



Adair

Filing for town clerk were Melissa Crawford, 40, Kim Conseen, 43, and Kathy Barry, 40.

All trustee members filed unopposed and were automatically re-elected. Jonny Terry, 40, is trustee for unexpired

Ward 1. Craig Cooper, 39, is the Ward 2 trustee. Trent Peper, 38, holds the Ward 3 trustee position. Devin DeLozier, 34, is keeping his position on Ward 4.



Chouteau

The town of Chouteau will not need a city election this year. All current officials filed unopposed and automatically filled their positions.

Shandra Stone, 27, will remain town clerk/treasurer. Tonya Yoder, 50, is the trustee for Ward 2, a four-year term. Mayor Jerry Floyd, 78, filed again for Ward 4.



Langley

Langley’s town clerk/treasurer Christine Morrison filed unopposed and was automatically re-elected.

Three candidates filed for the town’s two trustee positions. Candidates are Tommy Hopper, 39, Randall Akin, 55, and Mike Turner, 48. Voters will select two candidates on their ballots. The resulting top two candidates will fill the trustee positions.



Locust Grove

Joe Caldwell, 46, filed and refilled a two-year unexpired trustee term. Jim Flynn, 74, filed unopposed for the four-year seat he currently held. Tamatha Ogilvie, 41, was the single candidate to file for the clerk/treasurer position.

Another term open for filing was a second four-year trustee term. No candidate filed for that term.



Salina

Salina offices open for election were three four-year trustee terms and two two-year unexpired trustee terms.

Filing for the four-year terms were Dennis Weston, 59, Michael O’Rourke, 58 and Mayor Darrell Blaylock, 70. All three four-year terms were immediately filled.

Three candidates filed for the two unexpired terms. Billy Blackwell, 27, Morton Gann, 68, and Johnny Ross, 68 filed. Salina residents will select two

candidates on their ballots.



Spavinaw

Four candidates filed for three four-year trustee terms. Candidates are Claude R. Bud Guffey II, 32, Angela Brewer, 39, Beverly Chance, 69 and Lou Young, 67. The three candidates receiving the most votes will fill the positions.

Three Spavinaw citizens filed for an unexpired two-year trustee term. Candidates are Arlene Gay, 72, Daniel Millington, 61, and Sienna Sasser, 41.
