PRYOR, OK — Pryor Times
Pryor Public Schools are making up one snow day by adding May 23 as a school day to the calendar, and a portion of the additional time missed will be made up by adding minutes to each day with an emphasis on providing more instruction time prior to testing. Superintendent Don Raleigh said schools will add 15 minutes to each day starting March 10 and continuing through Friday, May 2. The added time will be focused on reading and/or math instruction at the elementary levels and will attempt to be focused on core class times at the junior high and high school.
“Since we are can utilize the hours calculation to our year, this will allow us to make up some of the time missed due to the numerous snow days,” Raleigh said.
The day will be extended by 15 minutes at each site. All sites will release at 3:45 p.m. with the exception of the LECC which will release at 3:35 p.m. Bus times will be adjusted to correspond to the release times.
Junior high promotion will remain on May 22 and graduation will remain on May 23. Kindergarten and sixth grade promotions will be determined by each building.
