Ronnie Garrett, 30, Edmond, was in district court Tuesday charged with first degree attempted rape of a 13 year old victim and lewd or indecent acts to child. A not guilty plea was entered. Preliminary hearing sounding docket is April 5. Bond is $50,000. Ronnie Garrett is alleged to have attempted to rape a boy in Salina on February 22.

Gary Don Garrett, 61, Salina, was in district court Monday charged with child abuse by injury, omitting to provide for minor child and indecent exposure. A not guilty plea was entered. Preliminary hearing sounding docket is April 5. Bond is $75,000.  Garrett is alleged to have beaten a 13 year old child, failed to provide adequate food and shelter and lewdly exposing himself around his home in front of a minor in February.

John Wayne McMillan, 19, Glenpool, was in district court on Monday charged with five misdemeanors and one felony. Assault and battery on a police officer - a felony, obstructing an officer, resisting an officer, public intoxication, and two counts of contributing to the deliquency of minors. A not guilty plea was entered.  Preliminary hearing sounding docket is March 29. Bond is $5,000.

Bobby Joe Englebright Jr. ,29, was in district court Tuesday charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (a knife). A not guilty plea was entered and preliminary hearing sounding docket is set for March 29. Bond is $20,000. Englebright was ordered to have no contact with the alleged victim.

This incident is alleged to have occurred on Feb. 27.

Eric Michael Smoke, 20, Spavinaw, was in district court Monday charged with public intoxication and assaulting a police officer. He pleaded guilty. He was ordered to pay a $100 fine plus court costs on public intoxication and a $150 fine plus court costs on assaulting a police officer. Smoke was arrested on Friday for public intoxication and spat on Mayes County Deputy Brett Mull.
