Man on PCP punches paramedic

PRYOR, OK —     Salina’s Keith Russell has been arrested in two felony cases in as many weeks.

Russell, 38, is wanted on a felony assault on an emergency medical technician count. The probable cause affidavit filed in the case alleges he punched a paramedic in the face in April.

After being transported to the hospital, according to the probable cause, Russell continued his threats and violent behavior. He allegedly tried to assault nurses, and snapped a restraint in two.

“Lab results show that he had over 10 different narcotics in his blood, including PCP,” according to the affidavit, which says bond on the warrant is $100,000.

Russell is being held in the Mayes County Jail for another case, one filed within weeks of the other.

On April 17 felony charges were filed on Russell, charging him with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, assault and battery with a deadly weapon, possession of a firearm after conviction/on probation, endeavoring/conspiring to deliver/manufacture a controlled dangerous substance and possession of paraphernalia. Bond on this case was set at $500,000.

It is not the first time Russell has been arrested in Mayes County. In fact online court records show Russell as having seven prior felony counts in the county. He has been charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, second degree burglary of an automobile and second degree burglary. In addition he has been charged with escaping from arrest, uttering a forged instrument, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and possession of a controlled dangerous substance. While one felony was filed in 2003, the rest range from 2011 to 2013.  He has a prior misdemeanor charge of breaking and entering.
