Weed in the gas tank

PRYOR, OK — Chouteau Police Officers Thomas Fisher and Chad Nave performed a routine traffic stop that led to finding marijuana in an unusual location over the weekend.

The traffic stop was made at Highway 69 and Harrison Street.

“We smelled marijuana while talking with driver, Heath Graham” said Fisher. “So we asked him to get out of the vehicle and Chad ran the dog.”

Nave utilized the department's drug dog, Krecko, who hit for drugs in the vehicle.

“The driver finally told me he had the weed in the gas compartment. Chad pressed the button and opened the gas compartment door and there was a bag inside,” said Fisher, adding that the bag contained two grams of hydroponic marijuana.

Graham has prior criminal charges in Mayes County that include possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled drug near a school, bribing an officer, and fugitive from justice, all felonies.
