PRYOR, OK —
Jay Franklin Furnas Jr., 32, Pryor, is charged with three felony counts in Mayes County District Court.
Information filed in the case alleges he stole transformers belonging to AEP/PSO worth $900, resulting in a felony count of grand larceny. He is charged with knowingly concealing stolen property. The incident occurred March 6.
He is charged with a felony count of larceny from a retailer. Information in the case alleges he stole a television worth over $100 from Walmart. He appeared in court last week and was told his charges can each carry up to 20 years in the Oklahoma Department of Corrections. His case was continued to April 17.
“Mr. Furnas has seven or eight cases pending. He keeps making bond and apparently refuses to stop taking things that don't belong to him,” said Assistant District Attorney Marny Hill.
Per her request, bond was set at $750,000.
When asked for any special conditions on bond, Hill said simply for Furnas to, “stop stealing.”
Furnas has a criminal record in Mayes County that includes two counts of second degree burglary, two counts of grand larceny, possession of burglary tools, three counts of knowingly concealing stolen property and larceny from a house. Furnas allegedly stole the transformers while driving a truck with his tree trimming company logo on the side.
