High speed chase includes gun fire

PRYOR, OK — A Salina trio was arrested for a mobile meth lab and shooting at police officer Monday.

Yolina Russell, Keith Russell and John Lemmings were arrested on drug-related charges. A vehicle occupied by the suspects was parked at Holiday Motel in Pryor. It contained key ingredients for manufacturing methamphetamine.

Items found in the vehicle included propane bottles, three cans of butane, eight cell phones, one box of Brillo pads and one alcohol bottle containing a clear liquid, according to the probable cause affidavit. Also in the vehicle was the finished product, meth, four pipes and a mirror.

Salina Police Officers Justin Hokett and Jay Milliron were hot on the supects’ tail as they sped off in the vehicle. In attempt to elude the officers, the vehicle exceeded 100 miles an hour. The driver of the vehicle, Keith Russell, allegedly fired multiple shots from a 20 gauge shotgun.

All three appeared in Mayes County District Court Thursday to receive their formal charges and bond amount.

Keith Russell is charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, assault and battery with a deadly weapon, possession of a firearm after former felony conviction, endeavoring to manufacture and conspiring to deliver methamphetamine, possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of paraphernalia. He was told the charges can each carry up to a life sentence. His bond was set at $500,000.

John Lemmings was charged with endeavoring to manufacture and conspiring to deliver meth, possession of meth and  eluding an officer. His bond was set at $500,000.

Yolina Russell's bond was set at $250,000 and she was charged with endeavoring to manufacture, conspiring to deliver, possession of meth and paraphernalia.

Keith Russell has prior criminal charges of second degree burglary, second degree burglary of an automobile, escape from arrest, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and breaking and entering.  

Lemmings' prior charges include manufacturing a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of marijuana, and assault with a dangerous weapon.
