Man assaults car, runs from police

PRYOR, OK — Willie Jumper, 19, Spavinaw, was arrested and taken to the Mayes County Jail Oct. 15. The probable cause affidavit filed in the case alleges that Jumper broke into and entered a a dwelling on Tulsa Street, in Spavinaw, without the consent of the occupant with the intent to commit the crime of assault and battery.

The affidavit says Jumper began to break out the windows of the victim's vehicle, kicking in the doors and jumping on the hood of the vehicle. The total damage is valued at $2,500. Jumper then allegedly threatened the victim with a beating and said he was going to kill her.

Officer Farrell Curtisinger of Spavinaw Police Department then arrived on the scene. Jumper ran from the officer, resulting in charges of escaping and resisting arrest. Curtsinger eventually caught up with Jumper and placed him in custody.

Jumper made his initial appearance in Mayes County District Court Friday. He is charged with first degree burglary, malicious injury to property, threatening to perform an act of violence, escape from arrest, resisting an officer and public intoxication. The court set bond at $150,000.

Jumper’s case was continued until Nov. 14 and he was ordered to appear in court at that time with an attorney.
