High speed chase results in school lock-down

PRYOR — A male and female suspect were chased into Mayes County by Oklahoma Highway Patrol during a vehicle pursuit Thursday.

The female suspect was brought into custody after she left the vehicle. The male suspect kept going, drove the vehicle into a pond and took off on foot.

The male suspect was armed and in the Oakwood Acres area.

Pryor Police, Mayes County Sheriff and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol were searching for the armed suspect in the area. He was allegedly carrying a 9 millimeter pistol and possibly a shotgun. Tulsa Police Department brought in a helicopter to aid the search around 10:30 a.m. and Lincoln Elementary, Roosevelt Elementary and Pryor High School were all put on lockdown as a precaution.
