Grimes anniversary

A citation of congratulations was presented to Fred “Buck” and Norma Grimes for achieving their 60th wedding anniversary. The citation was signed by State Sen. Mary Easley (D-Tulsa), and by Oklahoma Gov. Brad Henry.
The citation reads that the Grimes’ were married July 28, 1946 in Chouteau with the Rev. Ed Foreman officiating. They celebrated the big anniversary with friends eating catfish in Tahlequah. The citation also gives other biographical information about the Grimes. It states that they had two children, Ronnie Grimes and wife Judy, both deceased, and Dana Donnelly and husband Robert. The Grimes have three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Fred “Buck” Grimes served on law enforcement organizations for several decades, beginning in the 1940s with the Pryor Police Force and in the 1950s, the Miami Police Force. He retired after 30 years service with the Grand Prairie Police Force. Norma Grimes retired after 22 years from her own day care center, The Little Rascals.
The citation continues “Whereas, throughout the years, in good times and bad, this marriage has stood as a shining example for others to follow as the true meaning of the words spoken before God, and as an example of marital devotion which is truly worth of commendation...”
