State FFA officers set to visit local chapters

The state FFA officer team of the Oklahoma FFA Association will visit Adair FFA on the 2013 Goodwill Tour Jan. 22 at 12:15 p.m., the Chouteau FFA Jan. 23 at 10:30 a.m. and the Locust Grove Chapter at noon, Jan. 23.

Four collegiate FFA leaders will meet with FFA members, potential members, school administrators and community leaders.

“We will challenge FFA members to go above and beyond the status quo,” said Brandon Baumgarten, state FFA president. “Don’t be motivated by the pat on the back, but instead be motivated by the difference you can make,” said Baumgarten.

Throughout the Goodwill Tour, state officers will challenge FFA members to go for the gold and set their goals high. A total of 56 chapters were selected for the tour from the 352 total chapters in the state.

Visiting the local chapters are Brandon Baumgarten, state president; Barrett Powell, northwest district vice president; Kelsie Williams, southwest district vice president; and Steven Vekony, southeast district vice president. All are students at Oklahoma State University and sponsored by the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education.
