PRYOR, OK — Pryor Times
For a lot of people, the best sign that spring has finally arrived in Oklahoma is the opening of the Mountain Man Camp at Woolaroc. The camp will be open every day that Woolaroc is open through Labor Day weekend. There is no extra charge to tour the Mountain Man Camp.
For years the Mountain Man Camp has been one of the most popular things at Woolaroc, as guests experience life like it was in the 1850s, learn how to throw a tomahawk, shoot a black powder rifle and learn how a teepee is designed and built.
Wes and Roger Butcher, the Mountain Men of Woolaroc, have designed the camp to be a realistic look back in every way….it truly is a chance to look back in time to get a better understanding of the challenges and difficulties of life more than 150 years ago.
For more information about the Mountain Man Camp, call the Woolaroc office, Monday through Friday, at 918-336-0307, ext. 10 or 11.
Woolaroc is located 12 miles SW of Bartlesville on State Highway 123 and is open Wednesday through Sunday (closed Monday and Tuesday) during the regular season and open Tuesday through Sunday (closed Monday) from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Woolaroc is listed on the National Register of Historic Places by the Department of the Interior in Washington, D.C.
